Snow Days, Early Dismissals and Delayed Openings

Please keep in mind that Resurrection Regional does not make the decisions about closing due to inclement weather. The Office of Catholic Education makes the decision for “All Philadelphia Archdiocesan Schools.” You must listen for that announcement on the radio or TV. As soon as we get the notification, we will try to post it on our website as well as email parents and send a text/voice message. Remember that there is no CARES for early dismissals and morning CARES will start at the delayed time for delayed openings, eg. 8:30 am for a 10:00 am opening.

New Lateness Policy

Any student who arrives after 8:05 AM is considered late. Students must report to the school office for a late slip before reporting to class. The morning car line doors will be closed at 8:05 AM and students arriving after that time must enter through the main doors on Shelmire Ave. Students arriving after 8:15 AM must be accompanied into school and signed in by a parent or guardian. Three unexcused late slips within a trimester will warrant a 45-minute after school detention for grades 5 to 8. Students in grade K to 4 will serve detention at lunch recess. A late detention day will be listed on the monthly calendar. Any subsequent lateness within the month will warrant further detentions. Three detentions in the same trimester will lead to a one day out of school suspension. Consistent lateness will result in a student, parent, teacher, and principal meeting. Parents will be notified about a detention their child must serve and parents are responsible for providing transportation home for after school detentions.

Registration for 2018-2019

We have already received many Intent to Return Forms as well as Re-Registration papers. If you have not already returned these forms, please do so as soon as possible and remember to send in your Re-Registration Fee along with your Re-Registration Form. Your registration is not complete unless the form comes in with the money.

New Student Registration is continuing for the 2018-2019 school year by appointment only.  Be aware that PreK and K are filling up quickly so if you are planning to register another child or have friends or families who wish to register, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible.

Chess Club Introduction
The Knights School is a student paid after school chess club. There will be two FREE introduction classes on February 15th and February 22nd. Coach Luke will be at Resurrection to introduce the program and play chess with the students. To learn more about the program, check online at www.THEKNIGHTSCHOOL.COM.

Safe Environment Training

The next class for Protecting God’s Children will be held at Father Judge High School (3301 Solly Ave. Phila. PA) on March 13th at 6:30  PM.  This class is mandatory for all volunteers and employees who have not yet taken a class.

You must register online for the class at the Archdiocesan website. www.officeofchildyouthprotection.org.

Pretzel Order

There will be 18 days for pretzels in March (3/5 through 3/28) at a cost of $7.20. Please send in the exact amount by Thursday, February 22, 2018. No change will be returned.  If you have more than one child, each child must return a separate form. You may return the total amount of money with the oldest child but please make a note of the payment on each child’s order form. Forms can be downloaded from the FORMS link on the school website.

Altar Servers

Any Catholic student from Grades 5 through 8 (including P.R.E.P) is eligible to become an altar server. Deacon Friel had a training session on Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:00 am in the Upper Church but he will have more sessions if the need arises. Please contact Deacon Friel at the rectory or download the Altar Server Form from the school website under the FORMS link.

For questions about the application process, please contact FACTS at 866-441-4637. This should make things easier for you since we already use FACTS for tuition.

Children’s Scholarship Fund PhiladelphiaThe deadline to apply is Thursday, March 1, 2018.

We have already been notified that some of our families were selected in the early lottery drawing to receive a scholarship for the 2018-2019 school year. Congratulations! There is still time to apply if you haven’t already done so.  Apply online at (https://www.csfphiladelphia.org/scholarships/schools/) Scholarships are selected by lottery so if you did not receive one last year you can always reapply and maybe you’ll be selected this time.
